What is the best way to know whether to choose being an Obstetrician or a midwife?

I want to work with small babies and I know that I do not want to be a pediatrician because small children can get too feisty after a certain age. I know that I want to deliver babies and help to explain to women what is happening to their child as they are developing in the womb and deliver them. I also would love to give women the hope to have their own children through artificial insemination or through other procedures. #doctor #babies

Being an OB doctor would mean that you would work with women and only briefly with the baby. If you want to work with small babies, maybe you should consider becoming a neonatologist? I work in a Neonatal ICU at a hospital and work with neonatologists every day. They help small babies who are born and are sick or premature. It is a fascinating field and really focuses in on the development of a baby- much like you describe. Just thought you might like to consider it! Best of luck in your career pursuit!
