Alisar’s Answer

Hi Koen
If your talking about Architectural engineering then your answer is "We Create the World You See ". Its a big sentence and basically what it means we create space and experience. Its not just buildings and landscape or even interior design, its all about the experience.
There's more to it than blueprints and construction, as an architect one of the first things you learn is theory. Pioneers made theories and trends that the world followed with these guidelines to design, and everyday new theories emerge and trends but the concept remains one which is all about the experience " what do I want the user to feel" .
So you see if an architect doesn't have depth in thinking about the environment of the space or building that they are creating, it would be a very dull world.

Misty’s Answer

Koen,

Hi. The main job of an architect is to design and plan the blueprints for buildings and houses based off of customer want and need. They lay out the plans for the contractors to follow when building the structures. In some cases if they are schooled and trained enough, they are able to go in an approve construction according to plan as it completes.

Arah’s Answer

Koen:

Misty's answer is good if you're curious about buildings. However, there are also other types of architects, like software architects and information architects. I'm an information architect. This means that I design and make the wireframes (like blueprints) for websites based off what the intended user wants and needs. I do research - like interviewing users - to determine what those users need. I also learn about the language they use to describe it and how they are likely to navigate both through and to the website I'm about to build, with a team that includes developers, project managers and product owners.
