Matt’s Answer

Hi Freddy,

It's great to see you thinking ahead about your career and it sounds like you already have an idea of what is likely to motivate you. Knowing what drives you and makes you feel excited about your work is the most important step in finding a really fulfilling and (financially) rewarding working life.

Money is definitely important but I've found in my own career that following jobs that makes me happy and I feel passionate about has given me much more life satisfaction than money on it's own.

Someone wise once said to me "Do something you love and the money will likely follow on its own". That advice has served me really well and I hope it does for you too.

Matt recommends the following next steps:

Think about things in life you feel passionate about. Maybe it's animals or cars or working with other people.
Try lots of different jobs to see what kind of work you like best. You might surprise yourself!
With every new job you take. Try and find roles that have more tasks that you like doing and less of the things you don't like.
Always take opportunities to learn new things. You will discover lots of things about yourself and new ways of making money.

Tim’s Answer

This really is dependent upon you. Some careers allow you to earn more than other careers, like Sales or Financial Services. Even if you enter a career that isn't known as a place for making a lot of money, your career trajectory is up to you and how much you achieve. Pursue what you're passionate about and the income will follow in most private sector cases.

Tim recommends the following next steps:

You can Google "top careers" list, which will give you an idea of income potential, as well as the future of those positions.

angel’s Answer

The answer is depends. The range of how much you can make during your career can vary widely. When you choose a career, how much money you make for your job is only one of the factors that you should consider. The most important factor you want to consider is what is your passion. Chase after that passion and money will hopefully be the outcome of doing something that you love.

Gina M.’s Answer

That's a great question! It depends on the location of the job and what you want to be. Each career is different and the compensation can be different. But you can earn as much as you want as long as you strive for it, don't limit yourself with a specific number. Set yourself a goal and work towards it. Its limitless.
