Mark’s Answer

Hello Oscar!

I work for a software company in San Francisco.

Our software provides monitoring and support for a wide range of customers that need help maintaining their applications, webpages etc.

My day to day job is to provide custom discounting for customers that have a very tight budget but need a lot of support. If the customer only has $1,000 to spend but need $10,000 worth of our software, I work with them to close that gap. This way the customer has the support they need, we gain a new business partner, and we develop a valuable relationship that can extend for many years. This can result in the customer increasing the amount they spend with us because we have earned their trust.

I hope this is helpful!

Hello Oscar!
We are a group of Customer Success Managers working in tech.
A CSM works with B2B customers on a regular basis to increase adoption of the products we sell.

There is no typical day but a lot of what we do involve, meeting with customers over Zoom and sometimes in person for big business reviews to understand their goals, internal meetings with other people who support the customer, trainings (to stay up to date on the products we work with), manager 1:1 (to help prioritize our work). Email communications with customers and internal teams. Research customer questions and issues. Team meetings.

Our main goal is to help customers understand and utilize our products, we are not selling them a product (post-sales resource).

Mitch’s Answer

Hi Oscar,

I work for a market research consulting company. I work closely with my client to help them solve their business issues. I use data to analyze what products are selling the most, how often are consumers purchasing a product and what do they like about a particular product.

The goal of my work is to help my client's improve the sales of their products to meet their business goals. I will provide insights into trends in the marketplace and recommendations as to what the client could do differently to attract more consumers.

Thanks,
Mitch
