Depending on where you work as a chef, you would have to ensure that everything you need for meals is ready and whatever is needed tomorrow is prepared the night before. It requires proper meal prep planning and focusing on the menu. You are the menu and may or may not be able to make changes to the menu. They rely on your expertise when it comes to not only cooking but presentation/delivery of the food.

chef requires a lot of different talents (one including basic food knowledge) but it also requires that you have passion, and understanding that this job will probably take more from you than you will take from it & work in a kitchen has clearly been conditioned by many years on the conditions of the chefs who work there, so that now the first thing a person needs to be able to do when they begin working in kitchens is multi-task or, in other words, do multiple people’s jobs all at once.
