John’s Answer
Job corps was a great opportunity for me to get some real world work experience without having to skip out on school. I did not continue within the field I originally thought i would. I realized that the traditional business world was not something i was really trying to be a part of since a lot of it required me to already be quite structured in my thinking and at the time I wasn't there yet.
I instead joined the military and gained the structure and disciplines I needed. I hope this helps.

Hi Gabriel,
I personally did not attend Job Corp but I am familiar with the program. What I can share is that any experience that gives you hands-on work experience is very valuable. You will find that employers find value in not only education but also your work experience. Personally, I have worked in the Insurance Industry for almost 20 years and did not complete college. I was a single mom and I felt that getting a good paying job was better for me at the time. Education is very important but there are many ways to obtain it, including on the job learning. No matter what you decide to do, have a plan and set goals. Don't be afraid to try and to fail because it's how we learn. You will limit yourself by your lack of mobility -go explore new cities and test your comfort zones. Growth always happens with change.
