E. C’s Answer

Carolina,

Its all about your knowledge, interests and skills. If your k.i.s are based around physical strength and organizing you should apply for a part- time package handler at a warehouse. Also as a part time administrative assistant. If they are based around customer service and math you could apply for a front end associate position . If you have good memory and love being in charge you can apply to any inventory specialist position. I have listed five questions you should be able to ask and answer yourself and it will get the process going. You don't just want to work to get paid but you want to work somewhere where you can bring your own skills to the table and grow very successful.

I wish you the best on your journey.

E. C recommends the following next steps:

What are your skills?
Where did you learn them?
When do you plan on using them?
Who helped you obtain those skills?
How are you going to benefits the job you are seeking with them?

Alexandra’s Answer

Hi Carolina! Being 16 and looking for a job can be overwhelming. When I was 16 the jobs that I was interested in were customer service based. I looked into retail jobs, restaurant jobs and some office jobs as well. In my experience, I found that a lot of retail stores were very willing to hire young, motivated people to work in their stores. My first few jobs in high school were in retail. These jobs helped build my communication skills as well as customer service skills. I also knew many people who also worked in the restaurant industry at that age. Coffee shops and pizzerias will typically hire younger employees as well. All of these jobs will start to teach you some very important skills that will carry over into your professional in the years to come! Good luck!
