The job prospects are pretty good overall in the industry! In my area, Detroit, our culinary scene is constantly growing and theres plenty of jobs nationwide. I am a Pastry Chef and have considered opening a pastry shop/coffee shop one day. Its alot of work and takes patience, but I love what I do every day!

There is great opportunity anywhere in the world for good cooks. If you are reliable even more so. You can also quickly move up if you are hard working.
Just finish your studies and you should get a job quick. Most restaurants still hire on the spot.
