Your career path can vary wildly, depending on your end goal. If you want to open your own place one day, find a similar concept and start there, but don't get bogged down with one place. Taste the rainbow and work in different restaurants of different kinds and learn all you can about them and the business. Also, don't be afraid to start at the bottom. It gets your foot in the door and it'll usually be a job that you can observe from to see if you want to put down some roots, and if it's your first job in the industry, you don't want to be thrown to the wolves. In the end, restaurant work is very exhausting physically and mentally as well as stressful, but it's also exciting and never dull. You'll take on and conquer challenges you never thought possible. Good luck!
Find a place that you would like to work.
Scout it out. Go and eat there, check out the menu, and ask the staff what they think.
