It is exciting constantly changing environment. There are plenty of opportunities and new emerging technologies always opening up that you can switch to so no need to stay in same area

Volunteer to participate in Hackathons where you brainstorm with a Team for a service used with a new Technology that is needed
If in college, sign up for an internship in a Technology Department

You should be prepared with the constant change/update when it comes to computer technology. Almost every month a new hardware gets released/announced. Softwares also go through a lot of changes/updates. But if you do have the passion/love for it then it is definitely satisfying.
