Being a welder is a niche skillset that can ensure you always have work. Welders can be found in the Armed services, Unions, Construction and even in Art Work. I have learned over time that if I am doing what I love to make a living then it's not really work. I would encourage you to check out trade schools that may offer programs related to Welding and connect with people who are in the trade today.

My cousin closest in age welded until his 40's. I think he liked it but the physical demands became too much. He advanced in his company.
