I don’t think necessarily there is anything you NEED to do other than keeping your GPA high and getting into the college you want. I would recommend going to your local community college and try to enroll in classes that pertain to anesthesiology and can also be taken in highschool.

I'm not an anesthesiologist, but I can tell you that taking advanced science courses (and doing well in them), such as chemistry, biology, and anatomy & physiology will be part of the requirements for any health care related program. Math is also important. If you're not taking a foreign language already, it would be a good idea to start... No matter where you decide to study after high school, you'll have to fulfill certain gen. ed. requirements. See if your school offers the opportunity to take college courses while still in high school so you can get a head start. Definitely talk to your counselor and perhaps try to get in touch with a counselor at a college you're interested in so you can get a better idea of what the pre-requisites will be for the specific program. Also, any volunteering you can do, especially in the health care field will look good on an application. I apologize for not being able to answer SPECIFIC questions about anesthesiology, but your first couple years will be pretty much the same regardless of your intended major. Good luck!
