You don't have to wait until next year to start saving money. You can babysit or mow lawns now and save your Birthday and Christmas money too. When you do get a job you can put 50% of your paycheck in a savings account so you will have money for college. Shop around for banks though since some will match your savings up to a certain amount.

hHi Ja'Kayla! If you are working already, look for a bank or a credit union, there are several in the area, that can help you start an account as a student, or recommend what's right for you. Budget your money, remember that some things are wants and not really a necessity. Remember that you can also apply for scholarships starting now, you don't have to be a senior, so look for non-profits and other corporations that offer scholarships to students. You may also want to consider dual enrollment so that your high school and/or the state can pick up some of the costs of tuition and books. You would be taking college courses that will save your family and yourself in the future. My nephew did this and he started college as a Junior, which saved his family 2 years of university tuition. :-)
