Debra’s Answer

Working in the finance/accounting field you may not necessarily have a "seasonal" time frame but more like "month-end" , "quarter-end" and/or "year-end" time frames. Depending on the size of the department/company, you may have to schedule personal time around those times.

Many companies now have great cross-training functions where co-workers are able to cover for you if you are out. However, most people try to work their personal time around deadlines because they don't want to overload their teammates. With the great technology that is now available, a lot of companies also offer work from home options that help ease up these time frame crunches.

Allison’s Answer

There are so many variables that go into this answer. Not only is the toughest season dependent on the career field and the type of work you are doing, but it can also vary in the same company. For example, the last team that I led our busy season was January - February. We even have black out times where you cannot schedule vacation. Moving to a different team in the same company, the busy season is October - November. This could be a great question in an interview, however I might suggest wording it more along the lines of: In this position, how can the time of year impact the job requirements?
