The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available on 10/1 of each year. You can file the 2019-2020 FAFSA until 6/30/2020. You want to file the FAFSA application each year by 10/15. You will need to contact the college you are interested in attending to find out their application deadline.

I would also recommend doing some research on any university/college specific scholarships as those deadlines may be a little different to other scholarships and tend to close earlier. Also make sure to get a good understanding of any additional requirements the school may have.
