A graduation in the related field from a good college, internships from a company that is in your field of interest plus you may wantto educate yourself on the latest trends. Data science, programming languages, machine learning are highly recommended

Vishal’s Answer

A typical 4 year college bachelors degree in CS or IT will help. Focus on learning any one language, data structures and make use of online websites for programming challenges.

Anita’s Answer

I would suggest following :

  1. Certainly graduation in Computer science is almost.
  2. Lot of freely available online programming languages are available for school kids to practise programming at a very early age, try to use one of those (you can google and get name of those programs).
  3. You can plan to do a course in data science, big data, Machine learning, AI etc

Rajesh’s Answer

Typically you will need a good mathematic background, plus few science related coursework (physics, chemistry, etc.). After high school, good 3-4 years of bachelors program is needed for you to be a professional in the field, plus Masters or PhD depending upon the need.

But more than just education, understand your interest and passion, and think about how you will differentiate yourself from the masses. Understanding you passion and then combining this with computer engineering will help.

Personally I did bachelors in computer engineering, but later on moved onto software and networking, so the point is to have a broader mindset and make course correction as per the need. Wish you all the best !

Rajesh recommends the following next steps:

Review acceptance criteria for Universities that offer computer engineering and complete those pre-requisites

Amit’s Answer

Mathematics is definitely the Key, not only during the Education, but even after that, you will continue to use your mathematics skills.

In addition Physics and electronics, if you interested on the H/w Side, Chips/Silicon, Processors etc

The way software is advancing and more and more uses of AI/ML, Linear Algebra has picked up bug time.

Amit recommends the following next steps:

Fine tune your goal and see, what specific you want to do in Computer Engineering. Look at the Course/Curriculum of any good University and see what interests you. Accordingly, you can work on gaining those skills
