Tamara’s Answer

Hello Kyle ! First I would like to wish you great success in your journey.
How much money you should be making ? Can depend on many different factors.
will you be working with the school or a place of business.?
Should you be working for the school you won't make much because they won't charge full price to the public because your still in training . You will probably make money from tips if it's allowed.
If it's a business then the most they'll start you off at is the minimum per hour because of your lock experience but you will make money from your tips. But don't worry the experience will pay of much more for you in the end .

Tamara recommends the following next steps:

Keep working to get your experience
Demonstrate excellent customer service
Put it all on your resume

Hi Kyle! Here in California @ a salon I worked at the apprentice usually made minimum wage and the tips the clients would give them.
Focus on the learning part, this is what will advance you in the future to make some great money. Learn, learn and learn. Not just the hair part but truly the customer service part as well. I hope this helps! Wish you blessings on this hair journey!
