would the work involve any lifestyle changes, such as frequent travel or late-night business entertaining?

I’m a senior at Brennan high school in San Antonio that’s looking for insight on forensic psychology. I wanna be able to work closely with crime and really figure out how someone’s mind works.

Thank you comment icon Criminology is actually a great degree to obtain. It is why people commit the crimes. It falls along the Socioligy path. Tosha Covington

Most likely it could..it all depends on what type of agency you work for..if you work for a national one like the FBI then you will probably need to travel. If it is a local agency like a sheriffs or police departments..then it would most likely be more local travel unless there is a person that went to a different state then you may have to travel there. Business entertaining I would call it entertaining really. You may have to meet with people at all times of the day or stay late or work with other agencies. The only other thing I can think of is professional development/conferences for continuing education...but you would not be doing the entertaining for that. There may be random times where you are expected to attend events as well.

Check with your advisor for colleges or universities that offer Forensic Psychology degrees. Basic traits that would help in this field would be an analytical mind, learning how to deal with violent crimes and open-mindedness. Extensive investigating experience based on research and evaluation would also be needed. Perhaps, you could have the opportunity to intern at an F.B.I. agency.
