You are interested in a career that protect all of us! Way to go!
I work at the airport as a Finance Analyst for an airline, and I have many friends that work for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Homeland Security (DHS). They have rewarding jobs and help us to protect our country and transportation systems keeping a productive and safe daily operation.
The TSA protects the nation's transportation systems. Read the TSA employee stories below. Also explore the website to see the requirements for the TSA career.

The DHS protects the countries' borders and points of entry against counter terrorism and homeland security threads; they secure cyberspace and critical infrastructures; they secure U.S. Borders and approaches; and they preserve and uphold the nation's prosperity and economic security.
Refer to the introductory video about the DHS role in Unite States. Also, explore the website to see job opportunities and requirements.

I highly recommend watching “Removed” on YouTube. This type of job is so important but difficult.
As a mental health counselor I deal with the aftermath. I could never investigate and find children in horrible conditions. I do enjoy my job though. It is rewarding.
We do desperately need child protective investigators though!! Such an important job! I’m not sure how the shifts work but DCF in general is open 24/7/365. So if there’s a case, someone has to investigate so that could impact your lifestyle.
Go for it! See what you think! You’ll gain excellent experience good or bad.
