To answer your question, I personally think to be a good coach is based on the individual interpretation of good. What is viewed as good to one person, may not be viewed as good to others. So that question is very broad, however, I will say what has helped me is learning from my old coaches and studying the game. Also knowing the different dynamics of what make a good coach. How they evaluate? How they prepare? How they view improvement, and most of all how they instruct their players. What about their leadership? What is the bases of their leadership and what are they trying to accomplish? These are just a few that goes along with being a good coach in my opinion. Beyond this I personally think how one live their life is important? Their core beliefs? Their knowledge of the importance of education? Their knowledge of community? All of these skills help with shaping a good coach but again, this is my personal view. I hope this help with your growth!
