Leslie’s Answer

There are dangers in many jobs related to public service. When you use the word INVESTIGATE, people immediately go on the defensive. Oftentimes we are not sure what we are looking for and don't know until we find it. So people are anxious that we may uncover their secrets, even if we are not looking. If you work for an attorney it is important to keep the communication lines open ensure that the client understands client attorney confidentiality. This does not cover the other people that you may be interviewing. Secrets that can cause physical, emotional, financial and legal harm are real. So it can be dangerous. Always plan exit strategy when going into an unknown situation, make it clear that speaking with you is voluntary, and that you are only trying to help your client.
