Biology is a n extremely interesting field with many sub specialties. Study of biology sets the foundation for further studies in medicine, the academic tract, or the pharmaceutical industry. It also allows for endless opportunities to combine with other fields of interest, such as law, engineering, data science etc. I have post graduate degrees in biology and was pursuing an academic career. At he height of my career, I decided to change and am now happily and successfully in the financial field. The possibilities are only limited by one's imagination. If "promotion" is defined as success, it really stems back to the opportunities that one is afforded and what is done with that opportunity.

Biology is very interesting field and lays the foundation for medicine/ research/ teaching . You can also explore hybrid courses that many universities offer. If you are really interested and highly motivated you can reach heights and success with lot of post graduate and research programs . Make sure you have the right university which has grants to help students with.
