what do you suggest doing if you desire to help people however not becoming something as specific as a doctor or social worker?

I enjoy helping people and caring for others such as kids! I am not interested so much being in being a social worker but am intrigued in that type of field. #psychology

Cleve D.’s Answer

There are a multitude of opportunities to help kids and families other than being a social worker or doctor. Options such as licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC), School Guidance Counselor, etc. These are just a few off the top of my head. The majority of these I listed does require a Masters degree and clinical internships where you have to accumulate face to face hours that are required to get your license.

Cleve D. recommends the following next steps:

Research careers in counseling or psychology with a Masters degree.

If you don't want to study that much, you can opt for a Teacher Assistant or similar: https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/25-9041.00. You can also look into ABA therapist which can be a short training: https://www.jobhero.com/how-to-become-aba-therapist/
