I think my favorite part of being a welder is keeping up the tradition. Welding has actually been around for a lot longer than you think. It has come a long way from it’s beginnings to now. But it’s still essentially the same thing. As a welder you’re going to be making a lot of different objects. That wouldn’t be possible without the welding in some way or another. Honestly you can find welding all most anywhere. It could be bridges, roads, industrial equipment, cars, plains, and train tracks. Even every day things like tables, chairs, pots, pans, hand railings. Who can really keep track. Welding is used just about anywhere and anywhere you need a cheap and strong bound between two types of metals. And in this way is why welding keep getting more important and more advanced. If you do decide to become a welder you’re probably going to be hearing a lot about how much things have changed. But it’s not really a bad thing. You just need to learn how to integrate yourself with the new technology. But a the same time keep the older traditions alive. That where the old meets the new. Never be afraid to learn something new or do the research on something before your time.

The best part of welding is typically the paycheck. Welders can make a good living to a great living. Its very reasonable for a skilled welder to make over 30$ an hour, and there are many situations where working overtime, or even double time can be available.
To get there welding can be dirty, hot, hard work and while everyone does their best there are safety concerns. Air and noise pollution are very real factors that you should consider and its important to always wear your earplugs and respirator even when no one else is.
There also is a lot of satisfaction in looking at building or driving over a bridge and saying "I helped build that." Welding is a great career and pay very well depending on if you're willing to travel to remote area's.
