Andy’s Answer

Hi Adriana,

I deal with all kinds of problems on a daily basis, it really just depends on what is going on at that particular time. Currently I am one of the law enforcement deputies assigned to my shift in the county jail I work for. Part of my job is to make sure that individuals who have been arrested are taken before a judge within an allotted period of time. In doing this, there are alot of logistical moving parts that have to come into play such as prisoner safety, judge/personnel safety, medical concerns, staffing issues, and so on. Some of the other issues I deal with include responding to any type of disturbance, fight, medical issue, or other request for additional staff in the facility. Prior to working in the corrections field, I have worked in patrol, school liaison officer, investigations, and civil where each of those positions had their own problems and challenges to overcome on a daily basis.

William J.’s Answer

I deal with all kinds of problems. Personal, tax, divorce, traffic tickets, personal injury, contracts, insurance. Sometimes people need someone to tell them the truth and not what they think the person wants to hear. Recently, I had a man who wanted to pursue a small claims case that was more personal than realistic. It was the "principle" of the thing. I told him that "principles" were very costly and I told him if it was me, I would not pursue it. He accepted my response and decided to let it go.
