Jessica’s Answer

I can't really answer that specific question but I can say this: you should always go to the best law school you can get into, and you should try to get the best deal you can get. In the old days, tuition was tuition, and that's what you paid. Nowadays, you can bargain if your GPA and scores are good. So go to the best school you can get into that you can afford. If highly ranked school will cost too much, go to lower ranked school if you can get them to give you a tuition discount.

Jessica recommends the following next steps:

Research law school rankings
Figure out where you rank based on your GPA and scores

Nicole’s Answer

Law schools are ranked by "tiers". Tier 1 law schools are law schools that rank in the top 14 in the country. These schools have better job placement rates for graduates than tier 2 law schools, which rank lower than the top 14. Some Tier 1 schools are private (and more expensive) but some are public state schools (and more affordable). Research the rankings, and negotiate. Watch for out-of-state tuition hikes and negotiate for in-state rates.
