Carole Sams’s Answer

There are some amazing technical training programs out there. Many through local schools will require a diploma or or your GED. I highly recommend you try to complete one or the other. You may be able to find some apprenticeship programs through local unions in areas where they have these. You should also look at the large manufacturers (Carrier, Trane) who may also have their own programsn

Elizabeth’s Answer

You should definitely get your high school diploma. You may start out learning to be an HVAC technician and then realize that is not what you want. If you have your high school diploma, you will always have the option to go to college, or a different trade school. Life is ever changing and you never know what you may end up wanting to do!

Mark’s Answer

You should absolutely finish high school and get your diploma. Although you want to be a HVAC technician now, you are still young and may decide to change careers. Having the diploma will allow you to have more options. Also, check out the website in the link below. It is for the Mike Rowe Foundation. He is best known for creating and hosting a show called Dirty Jobs. The show highlighted skilled workers and how their jobs allowed us to live the types of lives we want. Skilled workers are among some of the heroes in our country and go unrecognized. The foundation awards scholarships for individuals seeking to learn a trade instead of pursuing a college degree. It may help you in your journey.

Good luck!
