Joanne’s Answer

I am not a help desk technician but in my career I use the help desk technicians when I have a problem with my computer.  A help desk technician is an IT professional who responds to problems IT users are experiencing.  The IT user will log an issue, it could be a password issue, difficulty with an application or a request for a new application etc.  The IT help desk technician responds to these requests for help either remotely or by contacting the user and helping to resolve their problem.

Joanne recommends the following next steps:

Try to make contact with a help desk technician to understand the role fully.
