How’s Answer

You do not have to have a degree to get a job as a graphic designer. However, taking the time in college to concentrate on learning design theory as well as how to use the software will likely get you farther in your career faster. There are different degrees depending on what area of concentration you choose; traditional graphic design, interactive design, UI/UX, etc.

Brandon’s Answer

You do not need to have a certain degree, but it certainly helps. There are plenty of self taught designers out there and build up their resume to move to bigger and better jobs. By taking design classes or having an arts degree in design or digital media, it gives you a leg up on the competition when you enter the job market. Having the degree will also open you up to other related fields that you will run into in the job world and hopefully give you an advantage to incorporate them into what you can do and feel confident about.

Cleo’s Answer

There are often graphic designer specialized programs in most colleges! I would suggest checking out the colleges in your area and the programs they offer.
