Dino’s Answer

The steps to becoming a Marine vary, depending on whether you enlist or want to be an officer. To enlist, simply go to a recruiter's office...from there the recruiter will explain options (infantry, logistics, communications, etc.) as well as educational benefits (college tuition). You'll be required to take a skills assessment and a physical/mental exam. If cleared, you'll sign a contract, then be given a date to attend basic training. Upon graduation, you'll be a bonafide Marine! Huah!

Hayes’s Answer

Go to their recruiting site to get the official rundown: https://www.marines.com/becoming-a-marine/overview.html

There's a million YouTube videos about how to prepare for every military school and course. The common theme is that there aren't any short cuts. For the Marines in particular I suggest you swim, build up your running, and do pull ups.

Hayes recommends the following next steps:

James’s Answer

It firstly depends on whether or not you want to be an officer or go the enlisted side. Commissioned Officers require a degree. Enlisted Marines only require a high school diploma or equivalent. You go to a recruiter's office or do some more research online. Make sure you do some extended research on Military Occupational Specialties (MOSs.) That will be your job while in. Enlisted get to pick their job based off of what contracts are available. Officers don't exactly get to pick their jobs. They submit preferences. Once you sign your contract, you go to the Military Entrance Processing Station. You then get a ship date to go off to boot camp.
