Jenny’s Answer

I'll preface that I'm not involved in this field personally but I know a few trainers and friends who do some sort of sports as part of their careers. It sounds to me like your passion can drive you into a fulfilling career ahead. While football as a career is definitely possible, I also know many who go into the profession in other ways. You have a couple options: you can either dive more into the sport itself as a trainer or coach for this sport. Or you can go into the health and wellness route by being a physical therapist, sports therapist, nutritionist, sports psychologist, etc. There are a lot of options for you to either remain active in your job or work closely with athletes. Depending on how far you want to go, I would suggest you completing a 4-year college or university program to help.

If you choose to go to college, you should probably major in something related to sports science or health. Take a look at the Kinesiology programs of different colleges you might be interested in. Some schools, like the University of Michigan or Michigan State University have specific majors related to sports science (https://www.kines.umich.edu/academics and https://reg.msu.edu/AcademicPrograms/ProgramDetail.aspx?Program=2280).

Jenny recommends the following next steps:

Research some colleges that have a Kinesiology program or major
Find a major or degree that matches your interests or passion for football
