Jordan’s Answer

I can speak for the PGA TOUR, but it’s incredible the number of people that are involved in making TOUR events happen. There is media, from producers to broadcast talent, data teams handling Shotlink, camera crews, and traveling sports journalists; you also have event staff, so tournament directors and teams who handle tournament operations, transportation, special events; there’s also digital support like social media teams and web developers overseeing live scoring. There are internal TOUR business teams that handle sponsors and their assets as well… which without Sponsors the TOUR and our players would not be in this amazing position. I also love seeing how much philanthropy is integrated into our sport specifically, which is a whole other part to our business…. You really could take any interest or major and find a way to use it within the golf industry.

Eric’s Answer

Ryan,

I love your question. You have to ask your self why sports? When you come up with the answer then you will ask your self. What kind of expectation am I seeking from this sport? Do you want to do the training aspect, coaching aspect, be the specialist, do you want to help with fundraising, do you want to help save lives with this sport. There are many avenues and you have to see about your passion.

For me I love sports because it helps build character and it allow one to really get to know a person and their gifts. It allows me to give back as a basketball coach. It also allows me to stay busy and motivate others in my circle. It’s a beautiful thing to be involved with sports. I hope you find your way.

Best,

Coach E

Jordan’s Answer

There are TONS of jobs that involve sports. The sky is really the limit here. You can do anything from being and sports medicine, physical therapy, to marketing, broadcasting, to even financial adviser and contract lawyer.

Jordan recommends the following next steps:

Start thinking about what really interest you about sports
