Sharon’s Answer

Most nurses who take care of patients in hospitals, including NICU nurses, work 12-hour shifts. Full-time nurses generally work three 12-hour shifts per week. Those working part-time work about 2 days per week. Some hospitals offer the "Baylor Plan" option - nurses who agree to work 12-hour shifts every Saturday and Sunday receive full-time pay and benefits. Many hospitals also have an option for nurses to be part of a "pool" of nurses who work as needed to fill in when staffing is low.
