Amad’s Answer

There are dozens of different classifications of "Engineer". It depends on what specific field you would like to go into and what type of specification you want to master. Once you reach the higher career levels, your pay is going to depend on your negotiation skills. In addition, compensation isn't limited to gross pay. It is stock options, PTO, benefits, etc. On top of all this, region matters. 200k in Kentucky and 200k in California are two completely different things. So the answer to your question is pretty much "it depends". You'll need to be more specific.
