State wise ... New York, Atlanta GA, California most times can be the best places to do intern because these places mean business ... lots of business. Best way to see who is good by comparison of reviews which speak a lot whether or not if some people say “what may be good for you may not be good for me and what may not be good for me may be good for you” You have to be able to maneuver through asking questions. Be in depth with your questions, this is one of the reasons why in school humanities is important. My English Professor always expressed to me that especially in Law humanities is important.

Peyton,
You can intern in any state. It depends on what type of law you want to practice and the state where you plan to practice. For example, if you want to work on wall street you should consider New York. If you want to work in politics or lobbying consider DC. You may want to consider trying a local internship first with a judge or law firm and see if you like it. Also, some law schools give credit and will help place you in an internship while in law school.
Good Luck to you!
