Being a lawyer is a great career as it gives you the opportunity to help people. Depending on the type of lawyer you decide to become you will meet a lot of different people. There are attorneys that do criminal work - it is very important work as a person who is accused of a crime has the right to have an attorney defend him against charges. If you do family law then you are working with clients that are dealing with family issues such as divorce, child custody, cases where children have been taken from their parents and are trying to get them back and other such issues.
