Hi Adan, one thing I found helpful when I was coming out of college and searching for jobs, it is important to remember there are MANY different positions that someone with a mechanical or automotive background can succeed at, and they won't all have the words "Mechanical" or "Automotive" in the job title. The best way to learn about different roles is to reach out to someone at a company and ask them to tell you about the role they are in, and the roles of the people who they most closely work with. You can learn a lot from someone else's first-hand experience in the field.

I took what I thought was the easy path, but tuurned out to be a slow hard path. I entered the field as a service salesman then transitioned to the shop. My management training was good. My mechanic training was on the job with little formal training. My advice is determine the sector that you want to enter, weather heavy trucks, passenger vehicles, heavy equipment. Next find who offers the training at a reasonable price like community colleges. Also check for apprentice programs while training.
