Kisa,
I can envision the answer from both administrative and clinical perspectives. Still, when you're working in healthcare, regardless of your position, helping patients IS staying on task, although how well you do that varies and there can be many challenges. One way to overcome this challenge is by understanding clearly the boundaries of your own role, responsibilities, and limitations, as well as supports available. Perhaps if you described an example situation, I might be able to give you more specific pointers.
Good luck!

Basically you have to prioritize what needs to be done. As said above, patient care comes first. You have to prioritize that as well. Then paperwork/computer work/any other tasks. As you are in the profession, you obviously gain experience and with that you figure out how to take care of the patients, while getting everything else done. It is definitely a challenge.

I’m a physician. For me, patients came first. That was staying on task.
