Hello Henry,
One way to get a job as intern in the Industry is to write a resume and cover letter stating your desires and email both to all the companies you may be interested in working for. All companies have a link to their HR department for that purpose. It would be beneficial for you to state the specific areas you are most interested in.
For example, statements like.... As an intern, I would be most interested in working in the engineering office, in departments such as Process Engineering ( LNG and other gas processes), Mechanical Engineering, Structural and Piping engineering, Electrical and Instrumentation engineering. I would also like to work in the field at new or existing LNG or other gas processing plants.
I'm able to do physical work such as climbing around equipment and piping or field office work to help with any of the engineering and design groups on site or at the physical plant.
I'm a diligent, hard worker, pro-active, willing and eager to learn as much as I can, and easy to get along with.
Sincerely and very much looking forward to hearing from you.
Very Best Regards, Henry
As an example of companies you may want to consider in or around Houston: Bechtel, Exxon Mobil, Tellurian, Cheniere, Chart Energy & Chemicals, Baker Hughes, Fluor, Linde, Sempra, Stabilis Energy, Freeport LNG, Kiewit Energy, Technip. Look them up on their websites and learn about them.
If you send me your resume I can review it for you and provide comments.
Good luck, Ted

Hi Henry, My dad actually works in the renewable energy business. Specifically liquid natural gas. The best way to immerse yourself in this industry is to truly sell your product. We've focused so long on oil and petroleum as energy, and a lot of people take time to adapt to changes, especially when they're so used to the old ways. Take time to focus on the specific renewable energy you want to focus and learn as much as you can about it. My father has written books on Liquid natural gas in order to keep well-versed in the topics. Take your time and focus on the industry you're in, and you'll go far.
