Kevin’s Answer

Engineering can be very math oriented, so your enjoying math is good. Engineers also build a lot of items, so that seems to be in line with your interest.

Generally, engineers spend a lot of time working at a desk or on the computer, focused on analysis and design. There is not as much interaction with other workers as there might be with other vocations. Take that into account, though some engineering fields (Industrial Eng) do interact more.

I love the field of engineering, and encourage folks with an affinity for it to go in.

Molly’s Answer

Any engineering job can be considered "good". I personally picked my field of engineering (Industrial Engineering) due to my combined interest in math and business operations. In addition, I struggle to sit at a desk all day and as a result spent a great deal of my career in a manufacturing environment - lots of interaction with people and opportunity to observe the products move through the line.

I would say that all engineers build things, whether it's processes/procedures as an Industrial Engineer, software/hardware as a Software/Computer Engineer, roads/bridges as a Civil Engineer, and so forth...

Other things to consider: your work environment/location can be heavily influenced by the field. For example, Petroleum Engineers will find many job opportunities in areas with heavy Oil/Gas Industry (example: West Texas, Houston, etc.).
