The job market for biomedical engineers is looking pretty good at the moment but any industry predictions are very hard. What if a significant safety incident happens that causes the industry to change their safety controls completely? This will cause a brief contraction as the industry scrambles to align itself with new regulations. In general, if you're worried about the job market and you want to go into the biomedical industry I would recommend picking a more general engineering discipline ie. mechanical engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering and then you can have more flexibility. Biomedical companies look favorably upon those engineering disciplines. No matter what, focus on getting experience as an intern while in school; the biomedical industry heavily favors graduates who have some familiarity with a regulated industry.
