RAVI’s Answer

Technology is changing rapidly, changing how we do things, creating a never ending learning cycle. People in professional career are required to learn constantly just to keep their jobs. If we were in college we would accumulate multiple degrees with the amount of learning we do. You will be challenged to learn all the time.
Technology is taking over human lives for most part of the time we are awake and leaving less and less time for social interactions, learning social skills, learning street smartness, and from learning to care for others and humanity. We seem to preach all the time to use technology to interact, treat people than reaching out and talk to them in person, or touch them. This might lead to lot of social issues that I personally unable to comprehend and describe. You will be challenged with social issues.
Capitalism and materialism is taking over the world making it impossible for people in the bottom of the pyramid to even survive. Next generation will be challenged with many social injustice issues.
World will be challenged with Global warming effects that not only create many challenges but also provides many opportunities for next generation to help reshape policies.

RAVI recommends the following next steps:

Keep learning new things in any field or field that interests you
Keep an eye on technology, and see how it is influencing social fabric, adopt to it and see how to better yourself with it
Interact more with people in person, friends, classmates, colleagues, family and learn from their experiences directly
In every situation there are opportunities. You just need to look out for them, pick the ones you like and make the most out of it.
Be happy. Be Postive. Be Creative. Be kind. Things will be just fine.

Scott’s Answer

- Automation leads to more competition for high paying jobs: soft skills and professional positioning will matter more for the middle class job competition. Knowing how to tell your story in a way that demonstrates your unique insight or impact will further set you apart.

- Sensitivity in the workplace is on the rise: Both receiving and giving constructive feedback without being seen as attacking/defensive will be a crucial skill for the next generation to master, if career progression is wanted.

- Motivation/Focus will clash with our shorter attention spans and ever-increasing distractions as remote work becomes more of the norm, not the exception: self starters and demonstrated efficiency of task/project work will be golden to hiring managers. You might keep concrete examples of your ability to deliver under deadlines with limited direction ... this list will serve you well down the road.

Rachel’s Answer

One challenge that those a generation younger than I am are already facing is difficulty with academic honesty. While it has always been possible to cheat on a test, now, with the power of the internet and the smart phone, almost all information is at our fingertips. Additionally, high school students are taking tests online from home now. It will be very difficult for many students to remain academically honest with the direction that testing is going.
