To give insights on how to design a motorcycle steering one could use solidworks in order to define specific parameters or designs using this software. As a engineering student you will find this to be useful to you and can make career using this. By using solidworks one can learn this software either by taking it at a community college or university called engineering graphics, which teach fundamentals on how to design, draw, and extrude. If one is not able to take it a institution, it is best to go on youtube and see tips on how to use the software where one can find plenty of help on how to see step by step methods to gain experience in designing such a model.

There are many aspects of any design: From ergonomics view point you need to consider the grip, desired rotational range of the handle knobs, how much the handle needs to rotate, how much torque Average rider can apply to steer the motorcycle, etc.
From functional viewpoint, how sharp a turn the motor cycle needs to make, what is the interaction of tire design versus ability to make a turn at various speeds, etc.
From structural aspect, you will need to make a compromise b/w the weight, and the strength. How will you assemble it.

A bicycle steering consists of 3 main parts; the fork, that is the lower part that hold the wheel at its hub, the pivot, that allows turning left and right, and the handles, which the rider has operate. Many designs exist each for a certain application.
