Hello, Anina!
First, "Professional Snapchatter" could mean a couple of things - you could work for a company or brand on their Snapchat presence/strategy, or you could be an influencer on Snapchat by building a large following with lots of engagement from your followers and then making money off of your influence with that audience.
How do you get there?
Understanding how to build an audience - it's three things: 1. Know your audience! Are you able to post great stuff that your audience wants to see/respond to? 2. What's your thing? Is it technology, fashion, video games, Silicon Valley investments? Know your subject matter inside and out - people will follow you because of your knowledge or passion. 3. Content, content, content. And more content. People who drive social media for a company or who build a career as an influencer in social media are constantly posting. It's a fun and exciting field to work in, but it's crazy hard work.
Also, recognize that social media changes so fast that it's dangerous to get too stuck in your thinking. You could work to build a following on Snapchat only to find that Snapchat stops being cool - then you'll have to quickly pivot to the next big thing and figure out how to work with your audience there. It can be very rewarding, but those who are successful work really hard at it and have a plan. Being cool for a living isn't easy! :)

How long do you have before you enter the workforce? "Professional snapchatter" might not be a career option if you're several years out still.

All of the previous comments are well considerable, but until the profession is established or recognized in some way, create it on your own!
Personally, I taught myself different areas of how to use various graphic design and editing techniques. Snapchat is only as good as you market it. I began helping people create logos and filters for their parties or personal reasons, but eventually it became a small business and hobby, because people were interested. Give that a try!
Also, it's all about who you know, so most celebrities have assistants record or cover their events on snapchat for them, so that could also become a possibility, if you look into it.
