What’s the difference between Teacher Psychology and Psychologist? Psychologists obtain a 4 year degree in psychology and then a masters in the specialty they choose to practice in such as family therapist, school psychologist, etc.. All of these professionals can teach residents and students their profession typically in clinical rotations. A professor in a 4 year university typically obtains a PhD (doctorate) and teaches in an online or classroom setting ie also called "didactic" education. All levels of psychologists can teach. So one must decide if they want to have clinical practice only (see patients) or educate future psychologists (classroom), or one can do both. I suggest you visit any university website and look under prospective student link to learn about the programs that interest you. Hope this helps:))

Hi Sabreen, Your career choice is a subspecialty in medicine. It is a very demanding and very rewarding selection. You must work hard in sciences to attain this goal and achieve high GPA in school. When you start college consider joining a "medicine interest group" and learn from other medical students what it takes to do this role. Another recommendation is to "shadow" an oncologist in a clinic when this can be arranged to get a good idea of their typical day in practice. If you have other specific questions let me know.
Thank you comment icon Hi Lecia, the student asked about the difference between being these two psychology related jobs. Your answer is a little off topic. Gurpreet Lally, Admin
