You could work at a daycare center. Teachers at daycare centers usually have a degree in child development. This is a really exciting environment with lots of opportunity for you to see the development in action.
I took a child development class in college and a project we had to complete was observing children at different ages in a daycare setting. We would observe and check off behaviors we saw them do that matched with their stage of mental or physical development.
You could also look into nannying. It pays pretty well and you get a front row seat to child development day in and day out. You can even find live in nannying positions to cut cost and increase your exposure. Parents interviewing potential nanny’s will value your degree.
