Police officers tend to eat out a lot. If you work the day shift (6 am -2 pm), you will likely go to work, grab a cup of coffee, and that's it. You will start your morning handling the car thefts that happened overnight. People leaving for work in the morning find their cars are missing. You will finish those by 8 a.m., at which time you will meet up with your buddies at your favorite breakfast spot. The one that has good food and gives police discounts on their meals. Living in Austin, you might grab breakfast tacos. You don't want to order something that takes a long time to cook or eat, as you are eating "by the radio," and could be called away at any time for another call. If that happens, you want something that is easy to take with you. Like breakfast tacos! My favorite is bacon and egg. Bean and cheese is too messy. You need a mix of carbohydrates and protein to get you going. When you leave the restaurant, you will leave the waitress a good tip, because you know she does not get paid very well. This will offset the discount that you got on the meal.

If you are eating at home, a bowl of raisin bran is my favorite! I like to let it soak in the milk until it gets real soggy. AI don't know why!
