I have many years of Business Intelligence experience, but am in the process of transitioning to ADHD coaching. Can you recommend a way to build out a new LinkedIn Profile?

Hi Will,
My suggestion would be to find a quiet place and remove any electronics or books and just think about your "why". Why are you making this transition - look for an answer (or a way to word your answer) that highlights the coaching skills you have already. Perhaps you're an active listener (for BI you likely need that), or you have a way of asking deep questions to get to the data you're looking for. I am sure you can find examples of coaching skills that you used in your prior role. Give a few examples of the actual skill in action - not so much focus on the BI outcome. This is really what people want to know.
Research skills of ADHD coaches (check out https://www.additudemag.com/shopping-for-a-coach/)
Consider a professional certification (progress towards one solidifies your commitment)
Schedule some informational interviews with existing ADHD coaches (maybe in another state so there is no competition issues)
Build a set of examples or stories of you using those coaching skills in any professional roles you've had and the positive outcomes

Thanks Sancia!
That's so important - the why. I'm in the ADD Coach Academy program now, working toward ICF and PAAC certification, and really enjoy coaching. I especially like how you pointed out that my BI skill sets are transferable. thank you for that. As you may know, coaches doors are exactly being beaten down by corporate america, so this is much more of a single gig.

Excellent! It sounds like you are already on the right path!

Hi Will!
Sounds like you've received some great advice already. I was in business and then transitioned to being a health coach, and there are definitely a lot of transferable skills! Especially if it's something you're passionate about. If you don't have the specific job experience yet, good places to highlight your transition are in your Bio, Education (with the coaching certification), and possibly volunteer experiences. I would also recommend creating a personal/professional website, so clients can find you, read about your story, your why (as mentioned earlier) and what you offer. It can be pretty simple to set up on Squarespace and helps build connection!
Hope that helps!

Will,
I recently made a switch inside my industry and found the most success with emulating profiles of people who have been successful in the same field. It may be adding talents, asking for recommendations, or tweaking key words in your job descriptions. I suggest looking at the people working at successful companies with the title/role you would like, taking screen shots of their profiles, and studying them for commonalities. Bonus points for someone who recently landed a position in your field.
Good luck,
