Look into local theaters that are auditioning for future performances so you can work towards building your resume and getting equity. Find mentors in the acting community to help you practice monologues and prep for auditions. If you don't get into productions at first, try volunteering to help tech a show so you can become more immersed in shows and learn from people in the shows.

Have you tried looking up talent agencies? Yes, it is a cut throat field to pursue but if you got the passion and talent for it you can do it!!!! Believe in yourself and keep practicing every day, in the mirror, with brain teasers to keep your memory healthy, anything, nurture it!

Talent agencies help a lot in getting you started. They often times can provide references for instructors too to help you with any element of acting you may struggle with. You are lucky you are seeking these answers so young! The younger you start in these fields the better off you will be. Even if a talent agency tells you to work with a coach, don't get discouraged! This will help you so much in achieving your dreams and the agency will remember who they referred and will remember you when you come back for that audition again!

Agencies also help you do all your prep work. They find gigs for you and set up auditions for you as frequently as you wish to be engaged. You usually don't even pay them services up front. If an agency takes you on they expect to book you and will just ask for a cut from your profits. This helps so much if you are in a tight bind with money too because you can start working and never have to pay the person that helped get you there before your first pay check!

Its a tough field. I pursued it briefly as did a few friends. EXPECT TO BE REJECTED REPEATEDLY. You'll need to protect yourself financially through family or more likely - a second job (most actresses are waitresses / bartenders too). From there you audition like crazy and never expect a call back. You'll need some headshots to be taken and printed.

Theater is a combination of numbers and talent. You need to be good so if you are not already KEEP PRATICING - classes, improv, voice, etc. Any chance to perform take it. The numbers side of this is that you need to audition 100 items to get one (unless you are lucky).

Good Luck with it - I hope you succeed on a path I did gave up on.

Have you try looking up for audition for acting, going to acting school or did some acting work. Acting may look simple for there is a lot of work, study, and etc. to become an artist in the acting industry. While I was in college I took some elective course on acting, performance, dance, art and etc. I though it was something easy but yes it is for the beginner once you move up into different level it is more and more hard than you expect it to be. So my recommendation for you is to look for audition if you already have some course work on acting, if not then try taking some classes on it and start from there and continue on.
