This is a noble goal. My brother has done exactly this for the past 20 years and he actually started it. He is continuing to be encouraged by it.
The key is to find a cause that you are passionate about and see if there is a non profit organization that fits your passion.
Churches are non profit and there is surly a need for people of faith to encourage others to walk morally and honestly in their lives. Lots of options here with children ministry or mentoring or food shelves and so on.
There are large and small non profits.
Giving of your talents and time to others is always rewarding. You don't have to work for free either. A worker is worthy of their wage.

Hope you find the right match for you. You can pray about it and see what opens up.
Thanks
George

Hi Emma,
For me , the most exciting/rewarding aspect of working in a non-profit is to “make communities thrive”. As well as the commitment to put skills and expertise to work, where it can do the most good for people and the planet.
As a Dell employee ,my colleagues and I make sure to contribute our time, technology and know-how to create a more promising tomorrow for Communities and people in need around us.
Best regards

Simeon’s Answer

The most exciting part of non-profit work is watching other people's lives improve and getting to know people who are usually from a different way of life. It's nice having your eyes opened to a bigger world. I did some work with a non-profit assisting refugees from Bhutan get settled into the Dallas area. I got to learn a lot about their culture and family dynamics.
